Irving City Council member Fahad Ahmed hosted a community meeting with the Irving Police Department focused on public safety, crime prevention and updates on city projects.
Police officials said crime in Irving has continued to decline, while residents raised questions about Flock cameras and the safeguards surrounding their use. Police Chief Daniel Comeaux discussed the department’s use of the technology, including arrests, stolen vehicle recoveries, investigative leads and missing-person cases.
Lt. Katherine Lash also shared crime-prevention tips, including securing doors, improving home lighting and taking steps to reduce the risk of becoming a victim of crime.
