Veteran Associated Press executive Sam Moore joins Context Corner as Managing Editor
Award-winning newsroom leader brings nearly five decades of journalism and media experience to the North Texas-based publication.
PLANO — Context Corner has named veteran media executive Sam Moore as its new Managing Editor, adding nearly 50 years of newsroom, television and Associated Press leadership experience to the publication’s editorial team.
Moore’s journalism career spans local television news, newsroom management and more than two decades with The Associated Press, where he worked with some of the largest television broadcasting groups in the country.
His addition comes as Context Corner continues expanding its reporting across North Texas, with increased coverage of civic issues, politics, business, infrastructure and community affairs.
A career spanning local television and national newsroom leadership
Originally from Shreveport, Moore earned his Master’s degree in Journalism from Louisiana State University before beginning his broadcast news career in Baton Rouge.
Over the years, he worked at multiple television stations including:
WVLA
WAFB
WBRZ
Moore later joined the editorial division of The Associated Press in New Orleans before becoming Managing Editor at WDSU-TV.
He later served as News Director at WAPT-TV, the Hearst-owned television station in Jackson, Mississippi.
In 2000, Moore returned to the AP in a national leadership role and eventually became Director of Large TV Groups, overseeing relationships with major broadcasting companies including:

He retired from the AP in late 2024 after serving 24 years with the organization.
